
Andrew Kellett, the SA Freestyle Paddling Champ for 2010/11 is also known as one of SA's top exploratory paddlers, with various first descents locally and internationally under his belt. He is also the leading swiftwater safety and rescue trainer in the country and owns and runs Gravity Adventures, a leading adventure tourism operator.
The Zambezi River Festival was a week long paddling festival that attracted kayakers and rafters from all over the world to the Zambezi's Batoka Gorge, widely acknowledged to be one of the world's top whitewater sections. There were a number of events during the course of the week including a downriver race, a freestyle event, a raft race and a slalom race. Andrew won the freestyle event (performing various manoeuvres on a standing wave for points) and came seventh overall.
