The biggest, warmest thank you and sincere gratitude for the Capestorm sponsorship of clothing for Birds in the Bush Pilot.
We were in temperatures ranging from minus 6.5 degrees to 25 degrees during the day.
The Firefly sleeping bags, Down Jackets, Goblins, Hotrods, Baselayers and Technical Pants and Shirts ROCK! They literally saved our lives.
Some Feedback:
We found ourselves minus water due to Hyena eating our shower bags so the clothing we had on, had to stay on for three days in Botswana and the gear copes well with managing perspiration, and body odour.
The Firefly did its job perfectly and was absolutely essential to each of us! We were down to baselayer and bag - nothing else required! Most comfortable at minus 6.
The downjackets were worn every day. They are puffy, but store away well.
The technical pants are perfect - in black and stone. The elastication assists with comfort and flexibility.
The zip up pockets store essentials like lip balm. Things don't fall out. We miss the back pockets though that were a feature in the previous range.
The long-sleeve shirts are perfect. Ladies and mens.
Sue and Vanessa lived in their body gloves, hotrods and base layers.
The Goblins are perfect to wear when packing and unpacking as the down jackets are then too warm.
The Hotrods rocked so much - I lent mine to one of the male crew and he has vowed to purchase a couple of pairs for situations like this one. In fact all of the crew learnt that the proper gear is essential if one is to be comfortable in extreme conditions.
They have been converted from tracksuit pants and jeans to technical pants, baselayers and hotrods!
The zip-off pants, however, lack the extra elasticity and flexibility for sitting in the car and climbing and the rise is too short, cutting into the groin area. Perhaps the style requires a little revision. Especially for the fuller figure!
The baselayers are perfect save for one thing - the body on the shirt is a little short for taller women. Sue's fitted perfectly, she is 5ft 6, Vanessa and I found the shirts a little short at 5ft10".
Vanessa rocked The Freak! She loves it!
Our Capestorm scarves never left our bodies. When we lost beanies, they doubled up as this, they kept us snug, warm and stylish!
The Buffs are of course, essential for anyone with, or without hair!
I am attaching some images - we have many, let me know if you need any of these in a higher resolution.
Happy poster children for the fuller figure!
Warm regards,
Sonja, Sue and Vanessa
