
At 16 years old, Kai became the youngest mountaineer to summit Elbrus from this dangerous and isolated route via the North Face (5642m) in July 2010.
Kai was part of the PANGAEA Mike Horn Young Explorers Progam, the 5th Pangaea Expedition to the Himalaya, in Northern Pakistan. In the Himalayas, where a Climate Change research project was done on the Glaciers, the expedition summited a 6170m Uncharted Peak - near K2, 1st - 27th June 2010.
CAPESTORM will support Kai in 2012, in his upcoming Expedition: 'KAPE TO KENYA 2012' covering over 6500km's through 6 differen African countries. Travelling from the Cape through to Mt. Kenya's technical Summet (5199m) ALL of this, only by means of public and sustainable transport.
On the way up Kai plans to stop at schools, teaching, spreading and helping with the idea of living in a sustainable manner with the environment.
