"Don't just stand there... RUN" - Motivational talk by Ryan Sandes
As 2010 kicks in and we all try to work off those extra kilos gained during the holidays, there's no better place to start than at CAPESTORM and a double header event on Monday 18th January at our Wynberg store.
With the Buff/CAPESTORM Trail Series kicking off in January we have the race registration from 4-7pm then at 7.30pm we have a motivational talk by potentially South Africa's greatest ever trail runner Ryan Sandes.
Ryan has taken the off road running scene by storm over the last 18 months by winning 3 out of 4 of the World's greatest multiday stage races. Whether it's across the Gobi Desert or through the jungles of the Amazon Ryan has beaten the best in the World and established himself as the man to beat in any multiday stage race. Ryan is also an incredible story of someone with no running background, starting the Knysna marathon because he couldn't get an entry for the 21km, progressing to his status now as a professional athlete.
So join CAPESTORM and Ryan Sandes for a motivation talk entitled 'Don't just stand there......RUN!!'
You DO NOT have to enter the trail series to come and listen to Ryan. However, a R20 fee will be charged for those wishing to attend the talk. Ryan's talk is in aid of raising money for the JAG Sports & Education Foundation 'JAG Runner' initiative, giving 80 kids the opportunity to participate in the trail series events and 'to build a positive future for themselves, their families and their communities' www.jagfoundation.org.za .
'Most of these kids have never even been on the mountain let alone taken part in a trail race, so it is very rewarding for us to have these kids take part,' said Trail Series Events Founder and Director Owen Middleton, 'a big thanks to Ryan for giving up his time and making this possible'.
As well as the presentation, you will be able to shop at CAPESTORM
